NEWMARKET – Bradford McDonald’s restaurant is raising funds for Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation to help with urgent supplies and equipment needed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning May 12, restaurant guests are invited to make a $5 donation to “Southlake Healthcare Heroes” program in exchange for any sized coffee or tea and a bumper sticker stating “We support our Healthcare Heroes”.

“We are happy to engage our guests and employees in a group effort to help our Healthcare Heroes in this pandemic,” says Jason O’Neill, owner/operator, Bradford.

“Support of our hospital is twofold right now,” says Susan Mullin, President & CEO of Southlake Foundation. “With our COVID-19 Action Fund, we’re supporting the most urgently-needed tools, medical supplies and personal protective equipment that our staff depend on to provide care safely. But equally important is the encouragement and gratitude our communities are showing through things like this McDonald’s Healthcare Heroes Program. This initiative will go such a long way in keeping the spirits of our front-line staff lifted during these difficult times.”

Funds will support urgent hospital priorities through Southlake Foundation’s COVID-19 Action Fund, including things like life-saving ventilators, personal protective equipment to keep front-line workers and their patients safe, and a Wellness Cart with individually packaged snacks, beverages and comfort items for staff to keep them going during long shifts.
