Bradford RBC staff drop off 'Thank You' cards to Bradford Valley Care staff (5 photos)

RBC Bradford staff wrote words of thanks and encouragement to the staff at Bradford Valley Care Community, a long term care facility in town that has been dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, which was just declared over today

During its appreciation week at the branch, RBC Bradford customer advisor Francine Grenon wanted to do something nice for the staff at the Bradford Valley Care Community Long Term Care Facility.

“I wanted to send all the staff at Bradford Valley inspirational cards” Grenon explained. “So we went out and bought over 170 cards!”

Finding out there was at least 160 staff at the facility, Grenon went to various stores in town and cleaned out their ‘thank you’ card sections.

She distributed the cards to all RBC staff to take home and fill out.

“I asked everyone to write words of encouragement” said Grenon. “(this situation) really gets you thinking, it makes you appreciate life”.

Once all the cards were filled out, envelopes were labelled “Just for You” or “Just 4 U”. Grenon then wiped down all the cards and placed them into a basket for delivery.

“The staff had no idea we were delivering these cards; it was a surprise!” exclaimed Grenon.

Grenon showed up outside the building Tuesday afternoon where she was met by Recreational Assistant Hillary Alzner.

With open arms, Alzner happily received the basket of cards and thanked Grenon and the staff at RBC for their positive words.

“Thank you!” said Alzner. “We are trying our absolute best to keep COVID under control”.

Grenon is also organizing a public choir to come and sing ‘O Canada’ on Canada Day outside Bradford Valley.

“I am trying to get members of church choirs to come out and sing (our national anthem) acapella” said Grenon, encouraging anyone to join them.

RBC wishes to inspire more random acts of kindness throughout the community, and hopes the cards lift the spirits of those working hard at Bradford Valley.
