I was out riding my bike this afternoon to prepare for my 1,000 km GCC ride this August and decided to head home from Bradford across the 8th line from Sideroad 10. Up ahead, I saw a pickup truck pull out of a farm and head towards McKinstry Road, which runs parallel to Highway 400. When I got to the highway, the truck was parked at the side of the road, and the young fellow had gone through the ditch and over the fence to the side of the highway, where he was helping an older couple change a tire on their travel trailer. When he finished, I complimented him on what he’d done, and he said he just had to help.

It would have been very easy for him to just continue on his way, but he didn’t because helping them was the right thing to do.

I don’t know his name, but I wanted to share his act of kindness.

Al Muma
