LETTER: Websites promoting new Bond Head developments an 'affront' to the BWG community

'These are the companies that are dedicated to improving our community, so much so that they don’t advertise anything we in Bond Head, Bradford, or Bradford West Gwillimbury have to offer'

The following letter was sent to Bradford West Gwillimbury Council and BradfordToday by Bond Head resident Dave Morton about the new homes being sold in Bond Head. BradfordToday welcomes letters to the editor at [email protected]
*************************

Two websites have recently sprouted up advertising the wonderful new developments that are to be built near the intersection of Highway 27 & Highway 88, in “Bondhead”.

Our primary claim to fame on these websites is the location at the intersection of CR 27 & CR 88, the Club at Bondhead, and Sir William Osler Public School. There is a new local golf course called the Bondhead Golf Course. The Countrywidehomes website spouts the benefits offered by a number of restaurants, churches, schools, and community centres in Tottenham and other locales, such as Tottenham Conservation Area, Church of the Evangelists, Timo Italian Grille Restaurant, Tottenham Community Centre, and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School but, makes no mention of anything in Bradford West Gwillimbury, or that it even exists, other than in the opening statements. You may also want to tell them Fairy Lake is in Newmarket, not BWG.

I hope you will keep these websites in mind, the next time you decide to change zoning or building by-laws when requested by these companies. Or, invite these corporations to come into our communities to clear the land, build new houses, and of course make lots of money doing so, when they don’t even know we exist!

These are the companies that are dedicated to improving our community, so much so that they don’t advertise anything we in Bond Head, Bradford, or Bradford West Gwillimbury have to offer. And they can’t even get the name of the community right, we are Bond Head, not Bondhead, and we are part of Bradford West Gwillimbury, we are not in Bradford!

This is not just false advertising, it’s an affront to the communities they plan to build in!

A very concerned, disappointed resident of Bond Head and Bradford West Gwillimbury,

Dave Morton, Bond Head
