BradfordToday received the following letter to the editor from York-Simcoe Member of Parliament, Scot Davidson, who says he's proud to be part of the Conservative Official Opposition:

I keep hearing from countless residents here in York-Simcoe who have real worries and concerns for the future. Too many Canadians are losing hope, and Justin Trudeau is continuing to offer no real plan to deal with the pandemic. He’s ignoring the urgent health care in Ontario and other provinces. He has no plan to address the lack of jobs or difficulties facing our economy.

I’m proud to be part of a strong Conservative team led by Erin O’Toole that is standing up for every single Canadian that has been left behind by the Trudeau government.

For example, Canadians deserve better and faster access to COVID testing options. Six months ago, Justin Trudeau promised this would be his top priority, but Canadians continue to line up hours for tests because Trudeau failed to deliver.

There is also a desperate need to provide practical help for small businesses -- particularly family-owned businesses. Many are barely holding on by their fingernails, and there must be more direct support for them. Conservatives believe Canada must be more resilient and self-reliant for the future. The pandemic taught us we can only count on ourselves in a crisis. We need to be more community-focused and support each other while protecting the vulnerable. We know we can overcome adversity together and emerge from the COVID era stronger and more united as a country than ever before.

As Canada’s Official Opposition, Conservatives are working to restore hope for all Canadians and get our country back on track.

Sincerely,
Scot Davidson
Member of Parliament for York-Simcoe
