International Women’s Day, March 8, celebrates the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women – and the ongoing challenges, as women work for gender equality.

The Portuguese Cultural Centre of Bradford is gearing up for its 15th annual International Women’s Day gala, on Saturday March 7 – a celebration of women and girls, and their contributions in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for an evening of cocktails, dinner of appetizers, soup, salad, chicken breast, potatoes, rice, vegetables and dessert - and live entertainment, featuring DJ John Paul Perdiz, and local singers Ines Sousa, and Samantha Paixao.

The evening includes a fabulous fashion show by Bradford’s Pink Closet Boutique, with local models – catching up on the latest style trends and accessories. This year, Adelina Brito of European Style and make-up artist Jessica Mallia will be providing hairstyling and make-up for the models.

Tickets for the gala are only $35 for women, $15 for children ages 7 to 12. For ticket information contact Ceu Perdiz at 905-775-3254 or 905-251-2302, Aldina Lapa at 905-775-4938, or Elizabeth Lambert, 905-715-4772, and be part of the tradition, celebrating women and girls in BWG.
