$3K raised, 200 coats collected at Bradford winter wear drive

The coat drive was held at the Bradford Legion on Sunday, in support of CONTACT Comunity Services

Bradford Realtor Anastasia Orlando hosted a Coats 4 Kids event on Sunday at the Bradford Legion in support of CONTACT Community Services’ Annual Coats 4 Kids campaign, with 200 coats donated and $3,000 collected for the cause.

In exchange for a donation, there were free interactive family-friendly activities available to take part in, including Kids Yoga, hosted by Breathe Yoga Bradford, a magic show, face painting, and balloon art. The first 50 children also received a loot bag full of goodies.

“I knew I wanted to do something to give back to the Bradford community. As a mother, I know how costly but critical it is for your children to have warm winter gear clothes for peace of mind. We are excited about the opportunity to support CONTACT’s efforts to keep every child warm” said Anastasia Orlando, volunteer co-launcher of The Clothes Line in Bradford.

The event was made possible with the support of Rosaria Martin and Franscesco D'Urzo of Bradford Regional Developments Inc and Flint Demolition Inc. Additional generous support came from JP Concrete Solutions, Dominika Home Financing, Jessica Harcourt - Realtor, Bradford Jewellery and Breathe Yoga Bradford.

CONTACT is asking the community to help keep a child warm by donating to its annual Coats 4 Kids drive. Donations of gently used winter outerwear will be gratefully accepted and distributed starting at this event in Bradford. All donations can be dropped off at The Clothes Line in Bradford at 95 Holland St. W.
