A gift of warmth from residents of The Elden (3 photos)

Craft will help keep people warm this winter

Back in November, residents of The Elden of Bradford retirement residence weren’t all that enthusiastic when activities assistant Ashley Guay suggested making stuffed animals as a craft.

But her next suggestion found instant favour: Make simple scarves, to be given to those who could use a little help keeping warm this winter.

Over the course of a month, working one to two hours a week, the residents made 74 of the scarves, to be delivered to various recipients - including folks at the Blue Door Shelters, residents of The LOFT in Bradford, and others in the community.

“Our residents are so proud of the scarves, and being able to give back to the community,” said Guay, describing The Elden community as “some of the most caring and enthusiastic” residents of Bradford.

The Elden of Bradford is located on 10 Sideroad at Line 8, beside St. John's Presbyterian Church.
