'A tradition': Frighteningly fun Halloween home tour returns

Halloween Home Tour returns for fourth year with more than two dozen homes vying for best presentation

You never know what could be lurking just around the corner this spooky season — maybe even in your own neighbourhood.

The Halloween Home Tour is back for a fourth year in Bradford, with more than two dozen homes competing to best capture the scary spirit of the holiday through decorative and sometimes interactive displays in yards and on houses.

Everyone is welcome to take a self-guided tour thanks to maps provided online by Jessica Harcourt, a local real estate agent who has been organizing the event since 2020, when it was originally intended to help people celebrate Halloween during the COVID-19 pandemic while social distancing.

Harcourt said the response so far this year has been fantastic and she hopes everyone enjoys creating memories during the free local outing with friends and family.

“This weekend and Halloween night will be the height of the excitement,” she said via email. “It has become something many people tell me they look forward to each year and it has become a tradition with their friends and family.”

The full list of homes includes:

  • 53 Turner Court
  • Britannia Avenue at Jay Street (collecting food and personal care items for food bank)

The winner will receive a $250 gift card to Spirit Halloween.
