An Evening in Paris raises more than $230,000 for Matthews House Hospice

Two free flights to Paris were up for grabs during the event

Matthews House Hospice Gala – An Evening in Paris on Sept. 28 delivered an elegant, energized and fun night for close to 500 guests and raised over $230,000.

Live and silent auctions raised over $55,000. A highlight of the evening was the donation of two free flights to Paris that raised over $7,000. New Hollywood rocked the house while guests danced the night away.

Much gratitude  to our many sponsors including Honda Canada, TD Wealth, RBC Royal Bank, Canadian Tire, Trailwood Transport Ltd., Moffatt’s Mazda, Milligan Energy, Ambler and Co. Inc., Drury Funeral Home, Red Pine Inn and Conference Centre, McDonald’s, Thomas Funeral Home, Wallwin Electric, Wrays Guardian Pharmacy, 400 Chrysler, The Co-operators - Gary Laakso Financial Services Inc, Canada, Bern’s Flowers, and Taylor’s Jewellers to name a few.

The events’ success is achieved through countless hours offered by our Gala Committee, volunteers and staff and our community donors and partners.

The services provided by Matthews House are community driven initiative, supported by local donors, municipalities and volunteers.  Because there is no cost for Hospice services, Matthews House Hospice continues  to rely primarily on donations from individuals, businesses and organizations in South Simcoe and the proceeds of our fundraising events like the gala, to provide community hospice and visiting hospice programs.
