A section of Bayview Drive in Barrie's south end will be closed for three days next week for infrastructure work.
NPL Canada and its sub-contractors, operating on behalf of Enbridge Gas Distribution, require a full road closure of Bayview Drive between Big Bay Point Road and Mollard Court from Tuesday, July 18 to Thursday, July 20.
The closure is associated with the city's Bayview Drive new transmission watermain and road expansion project from Little Avenue to Big Bay Point Road.
Barrie's multi-modal active transportation master plan identified Bayview Drive as "key transportation corridor" and recommended several transportation improvements to accommodate growth in Barrie up to 2031.
Access for residents within the closure is to be maintained, and emergency services will have access to respond within the closure but not to travel through it.
The roadway will be closed to buses.
Detour route in effect:
Bayview Drive – Big Bay Point Road – Fairview Road – Little Avenue – Bayview Drive
Bayview Drive – Big Bay Point Road – Huronia Road – Little Avenue – Bayview Drive
