Bradford Hustlers collect items for Helping Hand Food Bank

The third annual food drive brought in pounds of food for the local food bank

Bradford realtor Rose Sorbera has been busy this month, coordinating clothing and food drives for both The Clothes Line shop and Helping Hand Food Bank.

This past weekend, she and local volunteer/health group The Bradford Hustlers, dropped off the pounds of food they had collected this month from their third annual Thanksgiving food drive for the Helping Hand Food Bank.

In the spirit of giving, the Bradford community stepped up dropping off hundreds of non-perishable food items at the drop-off locations throughout town.

Bradford Hustler founder Laura Tansella's home was one of the drop-off locations. She received so many donations from the community that, "My house looked like a store", she said with a laugh.

The group of Hustlers also went grocery shopping earlier this week to ensure a full cupboard of food for those in need this Thanksgiving.

"It's super exciting to have the Bradford Hustlers help us with the food donations," said food bank president Carolyn Khan.

"We are so thrilled that it's another fantastic Thanksgiving food drive to support people in the community who rely on the food bank," added Coun. Jonathan Scott. the food bank liaison for the town. He noted the generosity of the community is always wonderful to see.

The food bank relies solely on monetary and food donations from the community. They have been operating in Bradford since 1991, and are located at 123 Moore St.
