The Bradford Legion donates $3,805 to the Helping Hand Food Bank

On Sunday the Bradford Legion presented a $3,805 cheque to the Helping Hand Food Bank.

The money will go towards the food bank's Giving Tuesday campaign. Last year, the food bank raised over $100,000 as part of their year-end fundraiser, and are hoping to do the same this year.

The Legion donated $3,000 with $805 of the funds raised through their 'Soup for The Soul' fundraiser event.

"We started our Soup for the Soul fundraiser last year in support of the Food Bank knowing many families were struggling during the pandemic," said Legion President Tammy Paglia. "We wanted to make it an annual event. We know that this year there are twice as many families making use of the Food Bank. The Legion has always supported the community through our lottery account as well, donating to charities such as Canadian Tire Jumpstart, the Loft, MS walk, Bowl for Kid's Sake and many others."

With the food bank in greater need of donations now more than ever, Executive Director for the food bank Carolyn Khan was appreciative of the support.
