Bradford West Gwillimbury Mayor Rob Keiffer presented Ann Lavhey, president of the Happy 60's Bid Euchre Club, with a certificate of achievement award June 21, congratulating the club for providing a recreational and educational outlet for the seniors in the community.
The club was founded in 1968. Members meet Thursdays from 7:00 pm. to 10:00 pm. and Wednesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to play bid euchre.
Light refreshments are provided at these times.
They are drop-in events and if anyone would like to join the club, it costs $10 a year for membership.
The club has several social events, such as potlucks, dinners and trips, throughout the year. Members provide a warm and friendly atmosphere and welcome any newcomers to the club.
