We Care Charity has raised over $10,000 so far selling e-vouchers for a round of golf at Cardinal Golf Club in Newmarket.
There are only 78 rounds of golf left to purchase.
We Care (formerly, Friends of We Care) is an organization whose membership is comprised of manufacturers, distributors, and operators involved in the hospitality and foodservice sectors. We Care aims to raise funds to send kids with disabilities to camp, ensuring they have opportunities to enjoy a camping experience and achieve their full potential.
Since it was launched in 1983, We Care has raised over $25.5 million, translating into 138,714 ‘camp days’ for kids.
Of that total, $72,000 has come from Morning’s Charity Golf Challenge, typically held at Cardinal Golf Club's Kettle Creek course.
Morning has been involved in fundraising for Easter Seals for decades – not only as an organizer and participant in events like the Golf Challenge but as an Easter Seals “Timmy.”
Morning has Cerebral palsy.
He would attend Easter Seals camp as a kid and loved the experience. He wants to help give other kids with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy camp too.
He typically would host the in-person Charity Golf Challenge, but due to the pandemic has had to switch to virtual fundraising for the past two years.
E-voucher purchasers will be able to use their vouchers any time during the week, and afternoon on weekends and holidays, by booking a tee time at Cardinal.
Purchase your E-Vouchers online on the WeCare website at www.charitygolfchallenge.ca. The voucher entitles you to a round of golf at Cardinal's East or West Course with carts included, for $95 taxes included. Proceeds from each round go directly to We Care.
