If you were out in the Bradford community this past weekend, you may have run into one of our 53 cadets and purchased a poppy from them.

On Remembrance Day, Saturday, Nov. 11, as in previous years, cadets from 37 Orville Hand Air Cadet Squadron will be present at the Royal Canadian Legion’s cenotaph as well as marching in the Remembrance Day parade, forming up at 168 Holland St. W. (Subway/Pizza Pizza plaza) and following the usual route along Holland Street from Collings Avenue to Bingham Street, and then down Bingham Street and Back Street to end at the Bradford legion, where the wreath-laying ceremony will take place after a moment of silence at 11 a.m.
Remembrance Day is a time to honour Canadians who have served at times of war, military conflicts and peace. By remembering their service and their sacrifice, we recognize the tradition of freedom these men and women fought to preserve. They believed their actions in the present would make a significant difference for the future, but it is up to us to ensure their dream of peace is realized. On Remembrance Day, we acknowledge the courage and sacrifice of those who served their country and acknowledge our responsibility to work for the peace they fought hard to achieve.
The Bradford legion is proud to support the air cadet squadron and, in return, the cadets have made a tradition of providing help to the sponsoring Royal Canadian Legion Branch 521. The youth are excited to be helping the local legion with its poppy drives and marching in Remembrance Day parades.
