Celebrate Canada Day in Bradford with music, magic, fireworks

Put on your red-and-white clothes and grab some Canada flags — the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is gearing up for its Canada Day celebrations this weekend.

On July 1, from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., head down with the family to the Bradford and District Memorial Community Centre at 125 Simcoe Rd.

There will be musical and dance entertainment, with performances by Elite Dance Corps, Queen tribute band Queen Flash and Tragically Hip tribute band Little Bones.

There will also be a magic show and a juggling act, as well as a kids area with inflatable obstacles, slides, rock wall and games.

The event will include an interactive drum circle, photo booth, Bradford Lions Club barbecue, and free Canada flags while supplies last.

“The evening is always jam packed with fun for the whole family,” wrote Terry Foran, BWG’s director of community services in a media release. “All hands are on deck when planning one of the town’s biggest events of the year to ensure its success.”

The official ceremonies and presentation of the annual Civic Awards will take place on the main stage at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks at 10 p.m. will end the event.
