Bradford celebrated National Seniors Day Saturday morning with a pancake breakfast at the Danube LeisureCentre

In celebration of National Seniors Day, the Danube Leisure Centre, in partnership with The Elden, Holland Gardens and South Simcoe Police, hosted a pancake breakfast with live music on Saturday morning.

Guests were encouraged to wear their best fall colours and to bring $5 or a non-perishable item for the Helping Hand Food Bank.

A total of $321 was raised for the food bank, in addition to non-perishable food items, thanks to the generosity of the 87 seniors who attended.

87 seniors were served a Pancake and Sausage breakfast AND donations of $321.00 + perishable food items for the food bank.

Mayor Rob Keffer, Deputy Mayor James Leduc, Councilors Peter Ferragine, Peter Dyke, Raj Sandhu, Gary Lamb, Jonathan Scott, Steph Sinclair and Randy Hutchings, BWG Fire and Emergency Services all helped make sure the event ran smoothly, serving up pancakes, sausages and coffee to the seniors.

"On behalf of the Organizing Committee made up of, Jaime from The Elden, Melissa from Holland Gardens, Elisabeth from South Simcoe Police, Elke Pitkin, Jan Evans and Linda Ind representing the Danube Seniors Leisure Centre we want to thank all of the volunteers, Hearing Life and Lynda's Floral Design for their contributions!" said volunteer Linda Ind.
