October 20-26 is Small Business Week in Canada, a time to showcase Canadian entrepreneurs and businesses that form the backbone of Canada’s economy.

On Thursday, Oct. 17, there will be a Small Business Week presentation at The Club at Bond Head – a day of information-sharing, action-planning and networking for small business owners.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the focus will be on “Closing your Talent Gap – Recruitment and Retention.” Discover how start-ups, growing and mature businesses can manage the way they attract skilled and motivated employees. Learn how your company’s culture and the people you put in leadership roles can impact your success, and how you can use your current workforce to help attract and retain quality people.

Participants will leave with fresh ideas and an action plan.

Ronda Fox and Foster Williams of Focus Business Solutions lead the discussion, helping to build “durable, sustainable and profitable businesses where people want to work.”

Closing Your Talent Gap-Recruitment and Retention is free, but please RSVP to 705-435-1540 ext. 108, or email [email protected] by Oct. 10. Lunch will be provided.

The event takes place at The Club at Bond Head, 4805 Line 7 in Bond Head; registration begins at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 17.

Small Business Week is an initiative of BDC, the Business Development Bank of Canada. This marks the fortieth year of the annual celebration.

The Small Business Week event in Bond Head is presented by BDC in partnership with Nottawasaga Futures, County of Simcoe Economic Development Office, Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury Office of Economic Development, Town of Innisfil, and Town of New Tecumseth.
