The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority is seeking watershed-wide nominations for the annual 2023 awards program.

Last year the conservation authority recognized 23 individuals and groups across the Lake Simcoe watershed for a wide range of activities including tree planting, garbage clean ups, invasive species removal, awareness raising, community events, and private property enhancements that protect waterways, according to a news release.

“Each year, we search for incredible people and groups who go the extra mile to support our environment. They help keep our water clean, our soil healthy and our communities more sustainable," said Katarina Zeppieri, the conservation authority's events and marketing specialist. “They are true environmental heroes whose collective actions become part of the solution to the many environmental challenges we face," she adds.

If you know someone doing great things to support the health of the Lake Simcoe watershed, let the conservation authority know.

The deadline to submit a nomination is June 2. Eligibility requirements and the award nomination form are now online.
