Fierté Simcoe Pride (FSP) announces open nominations for the 7th annual Simcoe County Pride Awards, presented during the 12th annual Fierté Simcoe Pride Season (July 27 to Aug. 6).
The awards recognize the accomplishments of gender and sexually diverse (GSD) individuals, allies, organizations and inclusive businesses. FSP recognizes the work of individuals, organizations and businesses that strive to celebrate diversity and promote inclusion. The Awards will honour a GSD resident and youth, a community, an organization and business, and a GSD artist for their contributions that make our County a better place to live, work and grow.
Categories for the awards:
- Youth of the Year
- Organization of the Year
- Business of the Year
- Person of the Year
- Community of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement Award
Nominations for the Awards will close July 14 and are submitted by the public using online forms hosted on the FSP website. Nominees will be announced on July 21, and recipients in the five categories will be announced at the Awards Gala.
The Awards Committee will review each submission. The award recipients are voted on by a secret ballot by a Jury Panel supervised by the co-chairs of the Committee.
