York-Simcoe MPP Caroline Mulroney was removed from the attorney general's position and appointed transportation minister by the Doug Ford government following a cabinet shuffle this morning at Queen's Park.
Mulroney will also retain her role as minister of francophone affairs.
Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte MPP Doug Downey, who is an Orillia-based lawyer, will take over as attorney general.
It is the first term for both representatives as MPPs with the Progressive Conservatives, who came to power in last summer's provincial election.
Simcoe North MPP Jill Dunlop becomes associate minister of Children and Women's Issues.
