Fans flock to Burl's Creek for 'best party of the year' (10 photos)

Tens of thousands of country music fans descend on Oro-Medonte for eighth annual Boots and Hearts festival

From first-timers to regulars, people have travelled to Oro-Medonte from all over for one of the biggest country music festivals in North America.

The eighth annual Boots and Hearts Music Festival is underway at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds.

“It’s the best party of the year,” said Xavier Man, of Oakville, who was attending the event for the sixth time. “Everyone loves each other.”

That’s how Cobourg’s Loretta Bouzane felt, too, while taking in Boots and Hearts for the first time after her daughters bought her a VIP pass.

“It’s amazing. It’s just a great atmosphere,” she said.

She was looking forward to performances by Cole Swindell, who headlined Friday night, and Miranda Lambert, who will close out the main stage Saturday.

Also making her first trip to the festival was Jaime DeValadares. She figured the brief drive south from Gravenhurst was worth it to see Kip Moore, who will hit the main stage Saturday.

“He’s sexy as hell and I love his raspiness,” she said.

DeValadares is among the many camping at Burl’s Creek this weekend, and she’s enjoying the experience.

“It’s the best thing ever,” she said. “Who doesn’t want to go to Boots and Hearts?”

Music will continue Saturday and Sunday on the Front Porch stage and the main stage. On the main-stage bill Saturday are Eric Ethridge, Tyler Rich, RaeLynn, Lanco, Kip Moore, and Miranda Lambert. Sunday’s main-stage lineup consists of Hardy, Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce, Tim Hicks, Kane Brown, and Jason Aldean.
