Finding deals at Innisfil’s Biggest Garage Sale (7 photos)

Garage sales continue into Sunday

'Innisfil's Biggest Garage Sale' is underway for the second year in a row, with residents all over town hosting rummage sales all weekend.

Deal finders were out early Saturday morning scouring the streets for bargains.

Event organizers Jacquie Raaphorst and Ashley Newman, both from Alcona, were excited and enthusiastic about this year's sale.

InnisfilToday met up with the ladies on Saturday at 1923 Victoria St. in Stroud, where there were plenty of shoppers.

"We have over 80 locations in Innisfil on Google Maps," said Newman, with an estimated 200 sales taking place across town.

On Friday, the ladies were getting anxious about the event due to the Canada-wide Rogers Internet outage and residents being unable to locate the maps from the garage sale's Facebook page. Thankfully most services were restored Saturday.

All participants of the event were encouraged to make a donation to Royal Victoria Hospital.

"The funds we raise this year will go to the Royal Victoria Hospital when it expands into Innisfil," said Raaphorst.

The goal this year is to raise $4,000 for the hospital.

Last year's inaugural event generated over $1,000 for charity of choice, Procyon Wildlife.

Sales continue into Sunday. For a list of participating addresses, visit the Facebook page here
