There's more to success in agriculture than a good yield. Learn more at the Agknowledge Forum. Miriam King/Bradford Today

It takes more than land and a tractor to be successful in agriculture these days.

It takes knowledge of government regulations, crop inputs, integrated pest management, computers, marketing and value-added potential.

The AgKnowledge Forum is a free symposium hosted by Nottawasaga Futures, where growers and other professionals, community leaders and interested citizens can learn more about recent developments and modern challenges from expert presenters.

This year’s forum will focus on ‘How to Market and Sell your Product.’ Topics include how to sell to wholesalers and retailers, and how restaurants source local products. Attendees will also hear from local farmers who have successfully marketed their products.

The AgKnowledge Forum takes place at The Gibson Centre, 63 Tupper St. West in Alliston, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday March 4 – starting with a free breakfast at 8 a.m., featuring locally-sourced produce.

The forum and breakfast are free, but please pre-register by contacting Robin Brown, at [email protected] or calling 705-435-1540 or 1-800-509-7554, ext. 108.

Sponsored by County of Simcoe Economic Development, Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture, Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario, Holland Marsh Growers Association, and Nottawasaga Futures.
