Simcoe County council wants to celebrate the civic holiday with you.

Warden Gerry Marshall and his fellow councillors are inviting the public to celebrate at Simcoe County Museum (1151 Highway 26, Minesing) for a free, family-friendly event.

“I’m looking forward to our Simcoe Day celebration,” said Warden Gerry Marshall. “2018 is the 175th anniversary of the County of Simcoe and this event is a great way to showcase the Simcoe County Museum, along with our many programs and services, while giving back to our residents. Please join us.”

On Monday, Aug. 6 enjoy free admission to the museum as well as kid-friendly activities, a guided walk through the museum tract, and a barbecue with homemade ice cream for dessert.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the barbecue from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free, but a donation to the local food bank is encouraged.
