CONTACT Community Services is pleased to receive funding through the Ontario Seniors’ Community Grant Program to present their Seniors Living Well Project. CONTACT will be hosting a comprehensive selection of entertaining and informative free seniors programming in the upcoming months.

Seniors will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of arts programs, learning seminars, health and safety training, cooking and live music, provided by local experts at multiple locations in South Simcoe.

“The senior population is only increasing, and they deserve the best opportunities to engage in social life, irrespective of income or ability. We are thrilled to receive this funding on behalf of the Government of Ontario to ensure seniors are supported today and in the years to come.” says Emily McIntosh, Executive Director, CONTACT Community Services.

“Across the province, June is a time when we pay formal tribute to our seniors. Ontario’s older adults are the province’s fastest growing demographic, and they are to be celebrated for the contributions they have made to our communities. It’s important that they know we are working hard to provide them with grants such as this one, that will be used by Contact Community Services to provide opportunities for them to keep active, safe, and socially connected close to their home.” said Brian Saunderson, MPP for Simcoe-Grey. “I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to Executive Director Emily McIntosh and her dedicated team of staff and volunteers who work hard to deliver quality programming that makes a big difference in the lives of seniors in Alliston and the surrounding area.”

The creative fundamentals of these activities directly develop and enhance seniors’ inventiveness, and seniors’ health will also benefit through socialization with others while learning new ways to cope and keep connected with those they love.
