The family of the two children who died in hospital after being hit by a vehicle that drove off the road in Vaughan on May 16 has released more information about the victims and a new fundraising page in their honour.
The page, created by SickKids Foundation, is “in loving memory of Anaya and Jax.”
The siblings, 10 and 4 respectively, were tragically killed after a 16-year-old driver from Richmond Hill struck them and an older neighbour while they were on the driveway of the children's home.
A tribute on the page describes Anaya as a “confident athletic girl, who brightened up the world with her beautiful smile. She was an amazing big sister who took care of all those around her.”
She loved art and science and technology equally.
Her brother, Jax, is being remembered as “a vibrant energetic young boy who filled everyone's hearts with so much love and joy. He was a fearless little boy who was always ready for his next adventure.”
According to the tribute, he wanted to be a ninja warrior when he grew up.
The family is asking for donations to SickKids in lieu of flowers to honour the two lives lost. So far, more than $51,000 has been raised.
