Get the bait and rods ready for the upcoming Free Fishing Week.
From July 3 to July 11, Ontario families can fish without buying a licence or carrying an Outdoors Card.
“Fishing is a time-honoured tradition and terrific way for families to spend time together,” said Greg Rickford, Minister of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry, in a news release. “I hope everyone in Ontario is able to head down to a lake or river and take part in Free Fishing Week, this year.”
The Ministry reminds people who are taking part in the free fishing event that they must:
- follow conservation licence catch limits
- obey size limits and sanctuaries
- follow the fishing regulations
