'Great opportunity': Library room renamed after $3K donation

Plaque unveiling takes place at Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library recently for Jamal Pascall Programming Room

Jamal Pascall has left his mark on the Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library.

The library recently renamed its multipurpose room the Jamal Pascall Programming Room, in recognition of a $3,000 donation to the Friends of the Library.

“When the library was being built almost 13 years ago, the Friends ran a fundraising campaign by offering room naming rights,” said Nina Cunniff, the library’s deputy chief executive officer. “The multipurpose room was one of the few rooms that were never named so it has been a great opportunity to have this room finally named. And the money, of course, will be used to support the library.”

Last year, the Friends used funds raised from donations and book sales to buy $50,000 in shelving, which were used to expand adult and children’s multilingual collections and replace spinners with a more accessible straight-shelving option.
