It's almost time to head back to class, and Greater Life Community Church wants to help students prepare with a free backpack giveaway.
The annual event will take place this Sunday, Aug. 22 at 3224 10th Sideroad at 2 p.m.
There will be 100 backpacks filled with school supplies to give away (first come first served), as well as plenty of games and prizes for students and families. There will also be a free BBQ afterwards.
Every year the church partners with Staples in Newmarket to obtain supplies for the giveaway.
Pastor Eaton Grant has always encouraged his congregation to think about the needs of the community. He has a passion for helping others, and understands the church's purpose is to serve.
The giveaway is a way to help ease the financial burden on getting students prepared for back to school, and get kids excited for the year ahead.
"We're hoping to lighten the load for parents with children returning to school by assisting with backpacks and school supplies," said Grant, "We're hoping that every child in Bradford and surrounding areas will benefit from Greater Life's community initiatives and partnerships."
