Do you have thoughts to share on transportation options that are accessible to people with disabilities?

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury’s Accessibility Advisory Committee is looking at options to increase inclusive transportation for all residents.

To that end, an accessible taxicab survey has been prepared to investigate the potential need for additional accessible transportation options within the BWG community, the town said in a news release.

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), requires that municipalities consult with the public regarding the need for accessible taxicabs and transportation in the community, according to the town.

“I encourage our community to participate in the survey, which will support our AAC in determining the accessible transportation needs of our residents, particularly when it comes to local taxicab services,” said James Leduc, mayor of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

The survey will be available online from 9 a.m. on Aug. 16 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 13.
