Many local residents have questions and concerns about the COVID-19 outbreak that has been declared at St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School in Bradford.

To help answer those questions, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is hosting a virtual question and answer session about COVID-19 outbreak management and prevention for parents of children who attend the Bradford elementary school.

The virtual event will occur tonight from 7-8 p.m. The session is accessible via Zoom.

Community members can join tonight's Zoom meeting by clicking the link here at 7 p.m. You will need to enter the meeting ID (814 1203 2383) and type in a passcode (701760).

The Bradford school has been in a COVID-19 outbreak since Oct. 1 with 20 student cases now associated with the outbreak.

According to Dr. Charles Gardner, medical officer of health for the region's health unit, the 20 cases are, for the most part, within a single cohort or are individuals connected to that cohort, such as siblings.

Last night, health unit staff were at the school offering an optional COVID test to any students, staff, or their household members who did not have symptoms and who were not already identified as high-risk close contacts of a known case.
