Henderson Memorial Park opens in Bradford West Gwillimbury

The property was donated to the town in 2009.

After nine years, Henderson Memorial Park is finally opening in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

The park at 3171 Line 9 is officially open to the public today, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with BWG council and staff May 23 at 5:30 p.m.

The 39-hectare property, which is at the southwest corner of Sideroad 10 and Line 9, includes play structures and a rolling landscape with natural features, such as a creek system and a small woodlot.

The property was donated to the town in 2009 by Mrs. Phyllis Henderson for family-friendly recreation.

The process of transforming the land into a park began with a vision workshop in 2013. The official groundbreaking was in June 2016.
