Holiday Happenin’ at the Elden (20 photos)

The residents and guests of The Elden celebrated the season with their first ever Holiday Happenin’ party on Tuesday evening

The residents and guests of The Elden celebrated the season with their first ever Holiday Happenin’ party on Tuesday evening.

The event was organized by Activities Coordinator Chad Axelrod and the rest of the management team.

In total there were about 170 guests, which included residents and their family and friends.

Residents and their guests dined on delicious appetizers of shrimp, spring rolls and watermelon feta skewers and a buffet dinner featuring a carving station with a 74 pound hip of beef (that had been cooked for 20 hours), sliders, and Christmas rolls stuffed with turkey and cranberries in the shape of Christmas trees.

After dinner, guests stepped into the "Winter Wonderland" a room filled with beautifully displayed desserts of cupcakes, cookies, and eggnog.

All guests were given drink tickets for their special 'Mistletoe Martini' served at the bar.

In the middle of dinner, Axelrod had a special surprise for the room: The fresh, hot off the press copies of the Elden calendar.

The calendar features photos of residents in funny costumes and accessories, all part of a photo shoot organized by the management team. The calendars are being sold for $20 each, with all proceeds going toward the pediatric oncology unit at Southlake Hospital. They can be purchased at The Elden or Nancy's Nifty Nook.
