Hot shot: Rare solar eclipse captured through clouds in Innisfil

All rare celestial events must come to an end. In southern Simcoe County, the view of Monday’s solar eclipse was largely obstructed by heavy clouds.

All rare celestial events must come to an end. 

In southern Simcoe County, the view of Monday’s solar eclipse was largely obstructed by heavy clouds. However, the sun and moon did manage to peek through for a few fleeting moments around the time of maximum coverage — about 98 per cent — at 3:19 p.m.  

According to timeanddate.com, partial coverage in Innisfil Heights started at 2:05 p.m., lasting two hours and 26 minutes.
