William Scott of Innisfil is celebrating after winning an Ontario 49 second prize worth $50,000 in the July 26, 2023 draw.

William, an 84-year-old father of two, said he’s been playing the lottery since it first began.

“My special numbers are 13 and 24,” he shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “Those numbers helped me win today.”

The retiree said he checked his ticket online the day after the draw and discovered he won big.

“I couldn’t believe it at first,” he recounted.

He went to the store right away to validate his ticket.

“The owners of the store saw me win and were overjoyed.”

William then shared the great news with his son.

“He knew I enjoyed playing the lottery and was thrilled for me,” he smiled.

With his windfall, William wants to take care of his two grandkids. He’s also looking forward to taking a trip to Florida.

“It’s a very exciting feeling,” he concluded.
