NEWS RELEASE
JONATHAN SCOTT, WARD TWO CANDIDATE
*************************
Jonathan Scott, a local business owner, columnist and community volunteer, is running to represent Ward 2 in the Dec. 7 byelection.

“I am standing for election as Ward 2 Councillor for the remainder of this term of Council. I was saddened to hear of the passing of the late Councillor Gary Baynes. I admired him and always enjoyed working with him. He will be missed,” said Scott. “It is very important Ward 2 has a strong voice on Council for the next two years. I am experienced and bring a record of getting big things done.

“I grew up a few blocks away on Compton Crescent and fondly remember taking piano and swimming lessons and playing hockey in Ward 2,” he said.

The candidate added, “Ward 2 has a lot of important projects that need an experienced Councillor to champion, from improving the downtown, investing in our parks, to revitalizing the old community centre’s recreation facilities, to working to address traffic and upgrade the GO train station. These and more projects must be achieved with a strict commitment to keep taxes as low as possible.

“I look forward to earning the trust of the voters in Ward 2,” he concluded.
