The BWG Library and Cultural Centre will be hosting a special performance for the Barrie Jazz and Blues Festival with international blues guitarist and vocalist Jack de Keyzer.

The multiple Juno-award-winning artist will be performing an original one-man show, Chroniclers of the Blues, at the BWG Library on Sunday, Feb. 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Zima Room.

Chess Records, Excello Records, King Records, Stax/Volt Records, Sun Records, Vee-Jay Records, Vocalion Records: These are just some of the record companies that captured the great blues artists of the early to mid-20th century in the United States of America. The music creations of John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, B.B. King, Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters and so many more were preserved for posterity by these visionary enterprises, and inspired generations of musicians that followed.

Join Jack in another one of his original ‘edutaining’ one-man shows as he reveals the forgotten world when the originators of the blues were first signed and recorded.

This is a free, drop-in event, and no registration is required.

We hope to see you there.

The BWG Library and Cultural Centre is located at 425 Holland St. W. in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
