Chi Chung Tsang, of Markham, won $300,000 on an Instant WOW! game.

Chi Chung Tsang of Markham is celebrating his first big lottery win with Instant $300,000 WOW! (Game #2409) by sharing it with his pandemic bride.

“It was the Chinese New Year when I decided to play my tickets while waiting to get dinner with my wife,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I was so excited, I started jumping up and down. My wife wanted me to check all the zeros because I thought I won $30,000. We started celebrating together when we saw $300,000.”

Tsang said they got married during the pandemic "and I want to take her back home so we can celebrate our marriage with family and a big party.”

He says he’s never experienced anything like this.

“I was shaking with excitement. I am so happy,” he said.

Tsang said he's grateful to the store clerk who kept the store open past closing to assist them with the win.

Tsang, who works in finance, has been a regular lottery player for the past 10 years.

“I love to play Instant games and I play them with my wife and mother. This is my first big win.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Ka Lok Co Lotto on Brimley Road in Scarborough.
