The month of Ramadan (March 23 to April 20) in the Islamic calendar is where Muslims fast from dawn to sunset.
The focus of Muslims this month revolves mainly around spiritual growth, increased charity, building on good deeds and self-reflection. Being grateful to God for everything in one’s life is key. Showing gratitude to your friends, family and community is extremely important.
As a token of appreciation to the Bradford community, the Ahmadiyya Muslims Women’s Association has arranged a two-day event, “Ramadan and Eid Celebration” on April 17 from noon to 4 p.m. and April 18 from noon to 4 p.m. in the BWG library.
Eid is on April 21, so organizers felt his was a "wonderful way to have our friends in the community to join in on learning and having fun with each other."
The event is free. There will be free Henna artwork and snacks.
