We are pleased to announce that the McDonald’s 2023 Cookies for Healthcare event in Alliston and Angus was once again a successful event, raising $6,200 in support of Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF).

During the weekend of Oct. 20 to 22, 2023, the community supported the cause in support of our community hospital. This donation supports the ‘Because of you, we can’ campaign, which fosters the redevelopment of the hospital, critical equipment, and technology needs.

“We are thankful to a generous community that continues to support each local business’s efforts to raise money for this important campaign,” expressed Rory MacKinnon, owner/operator of MacKinnon Restaurants Inc.

Mary Thomas, CEO of SMHF, is grateful for the supportive community partnerships that contribute to the transformation of Stevenson Memorial Hospital.

“McDonald’s Alliston and Angus continue to demonstrate their dedication to Stevenson Memorial Hospital. On behalf of the foundation and the patients benefiting from this generous gift, we extend our heartfelt thanks.”

The ‘Because of you, we can’ campaign is the largest campaign in SMHF’s history. Donations received help purchase essential equipment, upgrade technology, and complete critical renovations essential to the transformation and redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital. The hospital’s redevelopment plan includes a new emergency department that will triple in size. With an emergency department built to manage 7,000 visits a year that currently manages close to 40,000 per year, along with a growing population in south Simcoe and surrounding communities, this redevelopment is needed today and for future generations.
