SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE SERVICE

The South Simcoe Police Service is launching a Uniform Recruiting Team as part of our ongoing commitment to hiring the best candidates to serve in our communities.

This brand-new unit is being established to enhance recruiting of police constable recruits and experienced officers. The Uniform Recruiting Team is staffed by two full-time uniform members who will be accompanied by an outreach team with additional members to be announced.

We are proud to introduce Constable Darien Currie as the face of the Uniform Recruiting Team. Constable Currie is the new contact officer for everything you need to know about joining the South Simcoe Police Service. Darien joined SSPS in January 2023 as an experienced officer. Her journey to this exciting new career challenge in recruiting included a stint in the Canadian Armed Forces as a non-commissioned infantry soldier with the 48th Highlanders of Canada, and serving as a correctional officer with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.

A new email address has been set up to contact Darien and our recruiting team at [email protected]. Visit our website for details on the hiring process southsimcoepolice.on.ca.

“I am very excited for this new opportunity, not only for myself but for the Service. The South Simcoe Police Service has shown me that everyone here is family. We are rapidly growing as a population, and we want our police family to grow with the community it serves. I believe in people and value diversity. It’s important to me that everyone in our community feels safe and welcomed.”

“This is an exciting time for the South Simcoe Police Service. Our new Uniform Recruiting Team will enhance our hiring process with more resources to conduct community outreach and engagement, and partner with post-secondary institutions. Our policing family is growing and it’s a great time to join us.”

The South Simcoe Police Service proudly serves the towns of Bradford and Innisfil located in beautiful Simcoe County. Our policing jurisdiction is a unique blend of farms, Lake Simcoe, the Holland River, and vibrant towns with amenities of large cities but a small-town feel.

We are hiring to meet the needs of the rapidly growing populations in our towns and continue our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and making a difference in the lives of others every day.

Our Service is actively recruiting police constables both new recruits and experienced officers. We are dedicated to community engagement and delivering professional police services, in partnership with our local organizations, businesses and residents, to keep Bradford and Innisfil safe communities to work, live and play.
