NEWS RELEASE
SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE SERVICE
*************************
The South Simcoe Police Service wants to express its gratitude for the amazing community support of our recent Thanksgiving food drive.

The food drive was held on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, in partnership with Zehrs in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury, Sobeys in the Town of Innisfil, the Bradford Helping Hand Food Bank and the Innisfil Food Bank.

Thanks to the generosity of our residents, 3,586 pounds of food and over $366 in cash donations were collected along with $300 in gift cards.

Special thanks to the food bank volunteers who attended the event and helped garner donations.

We wanted to share some heartwarming stories:

  • An anonymous donor dropped off the $300 in gift cards at our North Division.
  • An anonymous donor gave multiple bags full of groceries, saying that last year, he was relying on the food bank and wanted to give back.
  • A Bradford boy who wanted to help used his $5 to buy two cans of soup and put his change in the donation bin.

Thank you to everyone who supported the effort to help feed families who are struggling. You truly are making a difference in our communities.
