A new Starbucks drive-thru and walk-up window is scheduled to open at the Barrie ONroute along Highway 400 in the coming weeks.

On June 10, the Mallorytown North ONroute opened the first location, with more to come in Barrie, Innisfil, King City, Odessa, and Port Hope.

The new walk-up windows allow Starbucks customers to order and pick up their beverages outside of the main facility, including the one in Barrie in the northbound lanes near Essa Road.

“As Ontarians can finally take to the road again, we’re proud of these innovations to improve the customer experience," ONroute chief executive officer Melanie Teed-Murch said in a news release.

Founded in Seattle in 1971, Starbucks now has a global presence with more than 30,000 stores in 78 markets.

Meanwhile, ONroute operates 23 plazas located along Highways 400 and 401 in Ontario, including food and beverage options, gas, and other amenities. Each location has various restaurant brands, a 24/7 market and free wifi.
