Town of Innisfil hoodies are now available for sale in support of the Innisfil Community Foundation

Wear your Innisfil pride on your sleeve, literally, with the town's new line of hoodies, with proceeds going to a local charity.

The hoodies, unveiled earlier this week, featuring the names of the 10 pockets of the community across the front were designed by local resident and business owner Annie Tallis of California Kiss Promotions

"We just started selling them and they are selling like hotcakes," said Mayor Lynn Dollin.

The idea for the hoodies came from the town's communications staff who received many inquiries about them after seeing the mayor and other members of council sporting them at local events and online.

Hoodies come in colours black and grey, with the following logo options across the front in white:

  • Innisfil
  • Belle Ewart
  • Churchill
  • Cookstown
  • Big Bay Point
  • Alcona
  • Lefroy
  • Gilford
  • Stroud
  • Sandycove Acres

"As the mayor, I am going to have to buy one of all of them," Dollin said with a laugh.

The hoodies went on sale just this week as part of a pilot project with only limited quantities ordered.

"Based on the success we've seen, we will be reordering," Dollin told InnisfilToday. "I love the fact that people want to wear the name of the town on their sweater, I think it's awesome."

The net proceeds from the sweaters will go to the Innisfil Community Foundation, whose grant program helps local charities and non-profit organizations that support local issues like poverty, hunger and mental health.

The Innisfil Community Foundation was formed in March 2020, just at the onset of the pandemic, and has been a support to many locals in need over the past few years.

"They have done so much to support our community," said Dolin. "So we are happy to support them however we can."

So far, the classic Innisfil sweater has been the most popular among residents.

Hoodies cost $49.99 plus HST and can be purchased in person at Innisfil Town Hall at 2101 Innisfil Beach Rd. Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There are plans to eventually have the sweaters available to order online, once an e-commerce site is established.
