Two dead after house fire in Vaughan

Two people died in a fire at a home in Vaughan on Saturday, according to York Regional Police.

Vaughan Fire and Rescue were called to a residence in the area of Jane Street and Major Mackenzie Drive on Saturday at about 2:30 p.m. regarding a house fire.

Upon arrival, fire crews extinguished the fire.

York Regional Police remain at the scene after two deceased were located inside the home. 

The investigation is in the early stages and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, police said. The deceased have not yet been identified.
