Water restrictions in Bradford West Gwillimbury, Innisfil this week

Shutdown for upgrades to Innisfil Lakeshore Water Treatment Plant

There will be water restrictions in Bradford West Gwillimbury and Innisfil this week during the final shutdown for upgrades to the Innisfil Lakeshore Water Treatment Plant.

In BWG, “non-essential” lawn watering and car washing will be prohibited on Aug. 9 from 7 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., according to Caleigh Clubine, community relations officer with the Town of BWG.

Lawn watering for newly-laid sod and seed are the only exceptions.

In Innisfil, watering lawns and gardens, and washing vehicles, sidewalks, patios, decks, windows and driveways is not permitted between Aug. 9 at 5 a.m. and Aug. 10 at 1 a.m.

How can you conserve water?

  • Take a short shower instead of a full bath
  • Fill a basin or pan with water to wash fruits and vegetables
  • Turn the tap water off while brushing your teeth, shaving, or washing your face
  • Skip laundry today and do it tomorrow when you have a full load
