Changing schools can be scary at any time.
But imaging going from the comfort of being senior student at an elementary school, to being at the very bottom of a new school, in a new environment, surrounded by new people - in high school.
To help ease the transition, Bradford District High school is hosting a Grade 8 presentation about the high school and teh various classroom levels, including Academic, Applied, and Locally Developed.
Presenters will talk about each path - college, university, apprenticeship or workplace - to help students choose what's best for their future.
The event is designed to help Grade 8s pick the correct path and ease any fears of high school.
The Grade 8 evening starts at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, in the school's cafeteria. Between 6:30 and 7 p.m., staff will be in their classrooms, talking about their courses so that the Grade 8s can learn more and pick the electives they would most enjoy.
There will be a number of Bradford District High School students volunteering, helping in the classrooms, directing people, answering questions, and making sure the evening runs smoothly.
The event welcomes all Grade 8 students from any elementary school in Bradford. Parents are welcome, too.
