FRIDAY, JUNE 14

Innisfil Ribfest

June 14-16

Friday: 5 p.m. to midnight; Saturday: noon to midnight; Sunday: noon to 6 p.m. 

Innisfil Recreation Complex, Innisfil Beach Road and Yonge St.

$3 admission, Children 10 and under are free

Third annual Innisfil Ribfest, presented by the Ontario Festival Group and Innisfil Community Events. Free concert, including Hotel California Eagles tribute band, Marshall Dane, Bernadette Connors, John Anderson. Purchase ribs from five top ribbers.

Bradford Farmers’ Market

8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

BWG Public Library, 425 Holland St. W., Bradford

Enjoy live music, meet local community groups, and find produce from the Holland Marsh and beyond, including plants, flowers and herbs, honey, dairy products, maple syrup, cured meats, free-run eggs, baking, preserves, as well as a wide variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, and handmade arts and crafts.

Community Pancake Breakfast

Free, donations welcomed.

Innisfil Volunteer Firefighters with the Stroud Fire Hall serve up a pancake breakfast. Enjoy breakfast, meet the firefighters, see the fire trucks, and see displays by other emergency responders including South Simcoe Police and Simcoe County Paramedics.

200th Anniversary of the Scotch Settlement

1-4 p.m.

Auld Kirk Heritage Site, 3380 Line 6 BWG (west of 10 Sideroad)

Free event, but donations for the preservation and upkeep of the Auld Kirk will be welcomed.

The BWG Local History Association hosts a celebration marking the arrival, 200 years ago, of settlers returning from the Red River colony in Manitoba. The settlers founded what is known as the Scotch Settlement, and built the Auld Kirk. Their arrival will be celebrated with displays, music, tours of the pioneer cemetery, the story of the Scotch Settlers, old-fashioned games, light refreshments.
